How much does it cost?

Will my piece be food and dishwasher safe and can I put it in the oven?
Yes, all pottery can be used to eat from and while we cannot be responsible for damage caused from a dishwasher we have found items to be fine in a dishwasher, but over time they start showing signs of wear.
We do not recommend that you put your pottery in the oven.
How long does it take to paint?
It depends on you! Most medium sized pieces take between one and two hours to paint. Obviously, young children may have a shorter attention span! We recommend you allow at least an hour and a half. You are welcome to spend as long as it takes and if you need to come back another time to finish it off then you can- at no extra cost!
Can I bring in my own food and drink?
We sell drinks and snacks and therefore prefer it if you don't bring food and drinks from elsewhere.
We can provide party food for children's parties and squash is included, whether or not you include food in your package. You are welcome to bring your own birthday cake. Adult parties, such as Hen Parties are welcome to bring alcohol.
Do I need a reservation?
We have some very busy periods at Crafty Monkey, especially Saturdays and school holidays, so we recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Booking is essential, every day over the Christmas period (usually from mid-October) as we are usually fully booked and we hate to turn people away. If you wish to attend Adults' Evenings on Thursdays, booking is also necessary.
How long until I can pick up my piece?
It generally takes seven days for us to glaze and fire your item. It is usually possible to offer a speedy service for an extra fee of £3, which means your pottery can be ready withing three days.
How old do I need to be?
There are no age requirements although children need accompanying by an adult. Everyone is welcome. You can be young, old, or in between! Parents or grandparents can bring in the little ones to do footprints or handprints (these make wonderful gifts or mementos!) Young children love to express their artistic talent and we have plenty of pieces that children like to paint and many suited to adults.
I'm not artistic and have never painted before so can I still do this?
Definitely. You do not have to be artistic to paint, a lot of the pottery has a design on it and we have many design books, stamps, stencils, and pictures to give you ideas and inspire you. Our friendly staff will be happy to advise you on techniques.
